What does this jewelry represent?
Ravens are an important motif that appears repeatedly in Viking art. This bronzed silver raven pendant is inspired by two such pendant dating from the 7th century found in Gotland, Sweden.
Ravens were sacred to Odin, the All-Father and the god of war, wisdom, wanderers, writing, witchcraft, and Valhalla.
He had two companion ravens, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory), which flew out into the world each day and told Odin everything that they saw and heard.
It was also considered a good omen to see ravens circling the battlefield as it meant that Odin was present to choose the bravest fallen dead to take to Valhalla.
This fine and authentic raven pendant is the perfect piece for those who honor Odin in all of his guises.
