Armring Griffin Head
💎 Made with quality materials by master craftsmen
What does this jewelry represent?
The Vikings wore torque-style armrings similar to this modern example made by our craftsmen in bronze or silver.
Chiefs gave armrings to their warriors to secure their loyalty, and Vikings sometimes swore oaths on these rings. They were also used as currency, and small chunks would be hacked off to pay for items.
This armring ends in two raven heads. These are the ravens of Odin, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory). They flew out across the Norse cosmos each day and told Odin everything that they saw. The arm of the ring is decorated with raven feathers.
