Description : What does this product represent?

This stunning bronze pendant in unique Viking style is a replica of a piece from Uppåkra, Scania, Sweden dating to the 10th century. It seems to represent a winged man.

There are various potential references for this piece. Odin turned himself into a bird in order to flee with the Mead of Poetry he stole from the giants. Loki borrowed Freyja's falcon feather cloak to fly to the realm of the giants and save the goddess Idun. The elf Volundr also makes himself a pair of mechanical wings to fly away from the king who has enslaved him for his skill as a smith.

The pendant is linked with the Viking idea of the ability to transform when the need arises and finding inner strength and skill in trying times.
