The Carnyx is an ancient Celtic wind instrument, used in battles and ceremonial rituals to create a powerful psychological effect. Its deep, resonant tones could carry across the battlefield, instilling fear in enemies while inspiring warriors.

Crafted from a thin bronze tube with a characteristic curve and straight-cut ends, the upper section—known as the bell—was often adorned with an animal figure, most commonly a boar with horns and a detailed snout. This decoration gave each Carnyx a unique identity and symbolic significance.

Carnyx produced loud, piercing sounds that served both as a signal for combat and as a representation of Celtic warrior strength. The instrument embodies the craftsmanship of ancient metalworkers, tactical ingenuity, and the cultural heritage of the Celtic people.
