💎 Important figure in the English resistance to Viking raids
💎 Singnet bears the Angus Dei (Lamb of God)
💎 Handmade by expert craftsmen

What does this jewelry represent?

This stunning ring is a replica of an archaeological find dating to the 9th century that supposedly belonged to Princess Æthelswith. She will be well-known to fans of The Last Kingdom, as the wife of King Alfred.

But historically she was Alfred's sister. She married King Burgred of Mercia to solidify an alliance between Mercia and Wessex to oppose the Viking raiders.

The original ring is made of gold with enamel decoration and is exhibited at the British Museum, London.

The rings signet depicts the Angus Dei, which means the "Lamb of God", a common motif in Anglo-Saxon art during the period.
