What does this jewelry represent?
Jormungandr, also known as the Midgard Serpent, represents the greatest fears of gods and men. But these are fears that must be faced in order to conquer life.
One of the sons of Loki with the giantess Angrboda, the gods so feared the serpent that they threw it into the waters surrounding Midgard. There it grew to such an enormous size that it could encircle the entire world and hold its own tail in its mouth.
Jormungandr will only drop his tail at Ragnarok when he is destined to emerge from the water and join the battle against the Aesir gods. He will spew his poison into the air, destroying much of the world.
Thor and Jormungandr will fight to the death, with Thor killing the serpent. However, Jormungandr will spew so much poison onto Thor that he will die within moments.
Despite knowing his fate, Thor does not avoid Jormungandr and is anxious to face him. All warriors should face their fears in the same way.
