What does this jewelry represent ?
As well as prizing a warrior's strength and courage, the Vikings valued wisdom. This is reflected in the fact that their chief god, Odin, was not just the god of war, but also the god of knowledge.
He famously wandered the nine worlds of the Norse cosmos in search of knowledge, sacrificing an eye to drink the elixir of wisdom.
Odin was accompanied on his travels by two ravens Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory), which were attribute symbols that represented his role as the god of wisdom and knowledge.
