What does this jewelry represent ?

The Vikings considered wolves to be complex creatures.

They represented chaos and destruction, but also strength and loyalty.

The most infamous Norse wolf was the giant wolf Fenrir, who is destined to devour Odin himself and much of the cosmos during Ragnarok.

In order to contain the potential chaos of this beasts, the gods chained him up on a deserted island using a magical ribbon-like chain created by the dwarves, the master craftsmen in Norse myth.

When the end of the world arrives, the mighty wolf will find the strength to break his chains.

While Odin is destined to be devoured by Fenrir, he nevertheless had two wolf companions: Geri (ravenous) and Freki (greedy).

These wolves were his loyal companions, and while they did not represent his best attributes, they were attributes that he needed to find a balance with.

For the Vikings, wolves represented both dangerous and chaotic forces, and forces that are also our constant companions. They command respect more than fear.

These distinctive sterling silver Viking wolf earrings represent the potency of our darker sides and the respect that these characteristics demand.
