What does this jewelry represent?
Viking warriors were feared across Europe as some of the strongest, bravest, and most ferocious. The superior Viking diet meant that they towered over many of their European neighbors.
But among Viking warriors, the most feared and revered were the Berserkers. These warriors communed with the spirit of the bear before going into battle to take on the animal's strength and ferocity.
Many legends and beliefs surround the berserker, such as the idea that they cannot be hurt by metal when they are in their berserker state.
Today the modern concept of berserk means to transform and to pull on inner strength to achieve things that seem impossible. While you might not want to transform into a bear, this idea of transformation remains powerful today.
Handcrafted in fine bronze, this pendant features a classic Viking sword with a bear hilt to honor the berserker. Pendant sold separately. You can find all of our chain options here.
