Odin was the principal god in the Norse pantheon. He was the All-Father and the creator of both Midgard and mankind. The Vikings venerated him as the god of war, wisdom, wanderers, witchcraft, and writing.
One of the most common symbols associated with Odin was a pair of ravens. They were called Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory).
They were his eyes and ears in the world, providing him with important information. The wise know that knowledge is power.
It was also a good omen to see ravens over the battlefield, as it meant that Odin and his Valkyries were present to take the souls of brave warriors to Valhalla.
When Odin left Asgard and took to the world of men as a wanderer, he was always accompanied by his telltale ravens.
This stunning signet ring features two ravens on the signet, their bodies elongated to create incredible patterns in traditional Norse style.
On either side of the signet, there also sits two distinctive ravens.
Hail Odin.
