What does this jewelry represent ?

Among the Vikings and the Germans, Irminsul, the "great pillar", was a common symbol.

It was linked to sacred trees and sacred groves and the ritual practices that happened there.

For the Vikings, it often represented the manifestation of Yggdrasil, the world tree that is home to the Norse cosmos, on Earth.

Irminsul represented the power of nature when understood and respected.

This stunning sterling silver pendant clearly links the Irminsul with Yggdrasil.

At the top of the tree is an image of the eagle that lives atop Yggdrasil, and there are also two stags, representing the stags that lived in Yggdrasil and ate its foliage.

The black swirls at the base of the tree represent Nidhoggr, the dragon that lives at the roots of Yggdrasil.

This sterling silver pendant is the perfect piece for those the follow the Norse respect for nature.
