What does this jewelry represent?

The Kolovrat, or the black sun, is an ancient Slavic symbol that was also adopted by the Kievan-Rus Vikings that occupied the area during the Viking period.

It represented the sun, and its daily death and renewal, and the eternal victory of light over darkness.

For the Viking warrior, it also represented their ability to rise from the ashes and to fight again even after the worst defeats.

This sterling silver Kolovrat symbol is embellished with Viking knotwork, and is the perfect piece for the modern Viking overcoming adversity.
