What does this jewelry represent?
Among the Vikings, ravens were sacred to the god Odin.
Odin was the most important of the Viking gods. He was a creator deity and the all-father of the Aesir tribe. He was the god of war, wisdom, witchcraft, the runes, poetry, death, and Valhalla.
One of Odin's most important attributes was his two ravens Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory).
He sent the birds out into the world to be his eyes and ears, telling him everything that they saw.
The Vikings considered seeing ravens a good omen, as it meant that Odin was near. Seeing ravens circling over a battlefield meant that Odin was present to choose which fallen warriors would join him in Valhalla.
This striking ring is a unique design that celebrates the mighty Odin.
It contains a portrait of Odin, with the heads of his ravens Huginn and Muninn protruding from either side of his helm.
