What does this jewelry represent?
Odin, the All-Father, is the leader of the Norse gods. He is a complex deity who the Vikings venerated as the god of war, wisdom, and wanderers.
Ravens were sacred to Odin and represent the god in his many guises.
As a warrior, it was good fortune to see ravens over the battlefield as it meant that Odin was present to select brave fallen warriors to take to Valhalla.Â
Odin had two raven familiars, Huginn (memory) and Muninn (thought), who always accompanied him and represented him as the god of wisdom.
Odin was well-known for wandering the nine worlds of Norse mythology as a one-eyed wanderer, his identity often revealed by the presence of ravens.Â
