What does this jewelry represent?
This stunning sterling silver pendant starts with a stylized image of Yggdrasil, the World Tree, that sits at the center of the Norse cosmos and is the source of natural power within the universe.
Its roots and branches, which held the nine worlds of the Norse cosmos, are delivered in traditional Viking knotwork.
This centerpiece sits within a frame made of snake bodies. This serpent is Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent that lives in the waters surrounding Midgard.
He represents powerful chaotic forces within the universe and also the things that men fear most.
Together this is a striking piece that represents the universe from the perspective of the Vikings.
