Valknut Helm of Awe Aegishjalmur Sterling Silver Ring
Symbols were strong within Viking culture, and were prized by the Vikings as both ways of expressing themselves, and of invoking divine power and support.
This ring combines two potent Viking symbols.
The first is the Helm of Awe, also known as Aegishjalmur.
This was a protective symbol that warriors would draw on their foreheads before going into battle.
It would give them unparalleled courage, and also called on the favor of Odin to protect them in battle.
The Helm of Awe forms the basis of this ring, and is then overlain by the Valknut.
This was the symbol of Valhalla, Odin's hall where brave warriors that died in battle were taken to live.
It represented why the Vikings could be so fearless when they fought. They had nothing to lose.
These two symbols are expertly combined on the striking silver ring, and surrounded by a geometric pattern that was popular in Viking art.
The result is a piece of a warrior that displays their courage and their respect for Odin Allfather.
