What does this jewelry represent?

Circular shaped pendant in Borre-style, replica of the find of the Vårby hoard in the Mälaren valley of central Sweden. Dated from the 10th century.

This beautiful amulet in Borre-style presents intertwined symetrical snakes or griffins. A very common decoration on the scandinavian art.

The original is made of gold. This replica is hand-made of bronze.




Size : 4 x 3,3 cm.
