There is no more authentic symbol for a modern Viking to wear than Mjolnir, Thor's Hammer. It was used as a symbol of protection among the Vikings themselves. It was extremely popular and more Mjolnir symbols survive from the Viking age than all other symbols combined.
This bronze pendant is a replica of a silver Mjolnir pendant dating from the 9th or 10th centuries found on the Isle of När, in Gotland, Sweden. It is a simple design with geometric patterning, a popular artistic method from the Viking age.
While it is impossible to say for certain, the patterning on the front of the hammer may be meant to represent a wolf, while the patterning on the back of the hammer may represent a raven. These were both animals associated with Odin, the All-Father and the most important god in the Viking pantheon.
Ravens represented knowledge and wisdom and the importance of thinking before acting. Wolves represented powerful and volatile forces, that should be respected, but can also be harnessed.
