While Western Vikings wore Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor, Eastern Vikings revered Perun’s Axe, the weapon of their own god of thunder and fertility. This amulet, popular in the 11th and 12th centuries, was a symbol of protection among these eastern warriors.
This sterling silver pendant is a faithful reconstruction of those ancient amulets, featuring an intricate stag motif. The stag represents the mighty creature that stands atop Valhalla, the hall where brave Viking warriors hope to reside in the afterlife.
