Ravens were a potent symbol among the Vikings, linked with Odin, the All-father and the god of war and wisdom.
The Vikings believed that Odin was accompanied by two ravens, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory).
He would send the ravens out to fly across the nine worlds, acting as his eyes and ears.
Seeing a raven always suggested that Odin was nearby.
And it was a good omen to see ravens descending after a battle, as it suggested that Odin was arriving to choose which of the dead warriors to take with him to Valhalla.
Honor the kind of the Norse gods and the belief that wisdom is power with this distinctive raven's head bead, with a raven's head on each side. It is the perfect, subtle, Viking piece.
