What does this jewelry represent?
Find it difficult to choose your favorite Viking symbol? This stunning sterling silver pendant combines several important Viking motifs.
The core of the pendant is Mjolnir, Thor's Hammer, which was the most popular amulet worn by the Vikings themselves. It is a symbol of the divine protection of the god.
The handle of the hammer looks like a face, which is usually called the face of Odin, the All-Father and the god of both war and wisdom.
Sitting on either side of the hammer are two ravens, these are Huginn and Muninn, "thought" and "memory" the two raven familiars of Odin that always appear when the god is near.
The body of a snake hangs off the ring the encircles the pendant. This is Jormungandr Thor's nemesis. The sea serpent also represents all of man's greatest fears, which a Viking warrior must have with courage.
