What does this jewelry represent ?
While we might sometimes fall into the trap of thinking of our Viking ancestors as merely bloodthirsty warriors, this would do them a disservice.
While their warrior blood certainly gave them a leg up in battle, their dominance of northern Europe was largely down to their superior technology, including both weapons and ships. This was the prize of the Viking intellect.
The Vikings themselves recognised the dual importance of strength and wisdom. This is why their chief god Odin was the god of both war and wisdom, as the two went hand in hand.
Odin had many attributes associated with them, but one of the most well-known are the two ravens Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory). They travelled across the worlds of the Norse cosmos, collecting information for Odin, feeding is knowledge and wisdom.
This chunky, Viking style leather bracelet is fastened in silver by two raven heads, paying homage to Odin, and the Viking awareness that knowledge is power.
