How Do We Craft Our Jewelry
Inspired by Nordic mythology and a passion for creative expression, each piece is a unique work of art. Fine detailing inspired by traditional Nordic symbols and patterns, quality materials, and expert craftsmanship come together to create lasting jewelry that feels personal, meaningful, and built to endure.
So, how do we craft our jewelry? Here is a step-by-step process:
1. Concept and Sketch
Every piece starts with an idea: a symbol, a story, a form we want to bring to life.
Our designer creates the first sketch on paper, defining the silhouette, ornament flow, and the details that make the piece recognizable.

2. 3D Modeling
Next, the sketch becomes a precise 3D model built in a graphics editor.
This stage is where we engineer the piece for real-world wear:
This stage is where we engineer the piece for real-world wear:
- proportions and thickness
- relief depth and fine detailing
- attachment points (loops, hooks, connectors)
- stone seats (if the design includes stones)
3. Creating the Master Prototype
To prepare for casting, we create a plastic master model. The method depends on complexity:
- Milling machine for simpler ornaments
- 3D printing for more complex designs with deep relief and small details
This master becomes the reference for consistent reproduction.
4. Mold Formation
We form the mold using plasticine (play-dough) about the size of a small box.
- The plastic master is pressed into the plasticine.
- The imprint becomes a mold (matrix)
- This matrix is used to create identical copies without losing detail.
5. Wax Prototypes
Once the mold is ready:
- We fill it with hot wax.
- After hardening, the wax becomes a prototype of the item.
- We repeat the process until we have 5–10 wax pieces.
6. Casting the Jewelry
The wax “fir-tree” goes into a cylindrical casting box.
- a special mixture is poured in and left to harden around the wax
- hot metal is poured into the top opening
- The wax melts and evaporates.
- Metal replaces the wax inside the mold.
This is how the design transfers into metal with full detail.
7. Primary Processing
After casting:
- Pieces are removed from the “fir-tree.”
- Extra metal is cut away.
- Each item is separated and prepared for finishing
8. Grinding and Smoothing
We grind the piece to remove roughness and refine the surface so it feels smooth, clean, and comfortable to wear.
9. Blackening / Patina for Detail Contrast
To make every detail stand out, we apply controlled darkening (patina/blackening).
Then the piece is refined again so the front surface becomes brighter while the recessed details stay darker. The result is a strong contrast that makes the pattern readable and sharp.
10. Polishing for Final Shine

Polishing brings the final finish:
- removes micro-imperfections
- enhances the clarity of the surface
- creates that clean metallic brilliance
