Description : What does this product represent?

Wolves were considered volatile creatures by the Vikings, strongly linked with the chaotic forces of the giants. But they also recognised and valued their pack mentality and sense of loyalty.

The giantess Angrboda was also the leader of a wolf pack, creating a strong linked between the threatening forces of the giants and wolves.

With the trickster Loki she had a sun Fenrir, a giant wolf. It is prophesised that when the end of the work comes, it is Fenrir that will devour Odin himself, along with much of the Norse cosmos.

But despite knowing his fate, Odin also had two loyal wolf companions, Geri (ravenous) and Freki (greedy), that accompanied him on his quests for knowledge.

While their names reflect the idea that wolves were dangerous beasts, their loyalty was unquestioned.

Many of us can identify with wolves. We have volatile personalities that can cause chaos, but underneath that we are loyal when it matters.

This distinctive wolf's head pendant is ideal for a complex Viking woman.
