One day Odin, the principal Viking deity, saw the Norns, the Norse fates, writing destiny into the bark of Yggdrasil using the runes. He coveted their power and knowledge and determined to gain it for himself.

He hung himself from the World Tree, Yggdrasil, for nine days and nine nights while pierced by his own sword until the secrets of the runes were revealed to him. When he learned the runes, he shared his knowledge with mankind. The men most accomplished in the runes are known as runemasters.

The Algiz rune was a powerful symbol of protection, and it sits at the centre of this stunning ring.

The band features an armored inspired design. This is ideal for a Viking warrior, as they knew better than most that the best defense is a good offense.
