The Helm of Awe was a potent symbol of protection among the Vikings.
Found in the Icelandic grimoires, Viking warriors would pain the symbol on their forehead before going into battle in order to protect them against their foes, and give them the courage to do what is necessary.
Perhaps the symbol was designed to invoke the support of Odin, the god of war, responsible for protecting warriors in battle.
This distinctive Viking-style ring combines the Helm of Awe with the two ravens of Odin, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory).
These attributes represented Odin in his role as god of wisdom.
Tying these symbols together, the ring is a homage to the king of the Viking gods, and also points to the power of thought and planning when it comes to fighting our battles.
