What does this jewelry represent?
This stunning gold signet ring features Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent, and is a symbol of fears to be conquered.
One of the children of Loki, the gods so feared Jormungandr's potential power that they threw him in the water surrounding Midgard. There he grew to such a great size that he encircles the entire world and holds his own tale in his mouth.
Jormungandr will only drop his tail and leave the water at Ragnarok, the Viking apocalypse, when he is destined to fight to the death of Thor, the mightiest of all the Norse gods.
Jormungandr represents all the things that men and gods fear most, but must face, just as Thor must face the Midgard Serpent at the end of days.
The serpent signet is presented in traditional Viking style, with the body of the sea snake curling around itself to form elaborate patterns.
The setting is decorated in Urnes style, an artistic style popular in Scandinavia in the 11th and 12th centuries.
