What does this jewelry represent?
Lunula-shaped amulets were common as jewellery among the Slavs, Rus and Eastern Vikings during the Viking Age. The lunula amulet had a significance mainly as a magical protection for girls and women. The Slavic Lunula amulets in the shape of the half moon are symbols for the female powers and illustrate the power of the moon.
The Lunula pendant of this kind was especially meant to give protection to the unborn life and also to protect the mother from harm.
