Odin was the principal deity in the Viking pantheon. The All-Father was the creator of Midgard and mankind, and also the progenitor of most of the Aesir gods.
He is the god of war who decided who won on the battlefield. He also chose the bravest warriors from the fallen dead to live in his hall in Asgard, Valhalla. There the warriors feast and fight until they are called on to fight again in the final battle of Ragnarok.
He is also the god of wisdom, and would famously do anything to acquire it, even plucking out his own eye in sacrifice. He shared with mankind the secrets of the runes, both as a code of writing and a magical toolkit. He was also a master of Seidr magic.
Not content to sit on his throne in Asgard and look out over the nine worlds, he would often take on the guise of a wanderer and walk the world. This made him a god of wanderers and explorers as well.
This detailed figure is perfect for your mantlepiece or Asatru altar. It shows Odin in his guise as a wanderer, though his warrior's armor is also visible beneath his cloak.
He is accompanied by his two ravens Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory), and his two wolves Geri (greed) and Freki (ravenous). These familiars represent the best and most challenging qualities of the god, all of which must exist within him.
