The horned Triskelion is one of the many symbols that was associated with Odin, the All-Father.
It is linked with the Mead of Poetry, which gave Odin mastery over the spoken word.
The mead was stored in three giant drinking horns, and Odin drank them all down, hoarding the wisdom of the mead for himself, though he shared some of it with mankind.
Many triple symbols are linked with Odin, perhaps representing his complex nature. He was the god of war, wisdom, wanderers, writing, and witchcraft.
This striking and finely designed piece is the perfect way to honor the chief Viking deity.
The horned Triskelion is set over an image of a serpent, surely meant to be Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent.
Fearing him greatly, the gods threw the infant serpent Jormungandr into the waters that surround Midgard in order to ensure that it could do no harm. There Jormungandr grew to such an enormous size that he encircles the entire world and holds his own tail in his mouth. He will only drop his tail at Ragnarok, when he will emerge to take his revenge on the gods.
Jormungandr represents all the things that men and gods fear most, and which they must find the courage to overcome.
