Yggdrasil, the World Tree, sits at the centre of the Viking universe. The nine worlds of the Norse cosmos are nestled in her roots and branches. Her roots bring nourishing water and connect the worlds. She also maintains order and distance between the worlds.

Yggdrasil was fundamental to the Viking view of the world and shaped ideas about the power of nature and the interconnectedness of all things.

This stunning gold ring represents those connections, with branches cross-crossing and influencing one another. Using natural objects to create geometric patterns was a stable of Viking artistic design.
