Norse religion and culture is steeped in symbology.
The Vikings believed that the symbols had power, and that carrying the right symbol with you could change the course of your fate.
This unique and striking sterling silver pendant combines two powerful Viking symbols associated with Odin, the king of the Norse gods.
Odin, the god of war and wisdom, had many symbols.
Among the most well-known are his two ravens, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory), that travelled the worlds of the Norse cosmos as Odin's eyes and ears, reporting back everything that they saw.
As such, they were a symbol of Odin as the god of wisdom. But rather than a raven, this is a raven skull, which also points to Odin's role as a god of death.
Odin decided who lived and died on the battlefield, and took the bravest fallen warriors to live in his hall Valhalla.
Odin was also a god of war, and as such of strength and bravery.
The runic symbol carved on the dead of the raven amulet is Aegishjalmur, also known as the Helm of Awe.
Viking warriors would use this symbol to invoke the favour of Odin and give themselves the strength and courage to face their enemies.
Honour the god Odin with this striking and unusual design, calling on him as a god of wisdom, a god of war and a god of death, invoking his support in every aspect of your own life.
