What does this jewelry represent?
The Vikings carried many different types of weapons, axes, spears, but the most prized among them was a sword.
Only warriors of repute with money behind them, from successful raids or the gratitude of a king, could afford a sword.
The best of all swords in the Viking period was the Ulfberht.
Made between the 9th and 11th centuries, these were a transitional sword between the earlier Viking sword, and the later high medieval Knight's sword. Prized as a weapon, manufacturers carved the mark Ulfberht onto their creations, and Viking warriors were buried with their prize. More than 170 Ulfberht swords have been found across Viking Europe.
Invoke the spirit, courage and bravery of the most successful Viking warrior, who would have stood out even among their courageous brothers, with this distinctive bronze Ulfberht sword pendant.
