This eye-catching sterling silver ring combines a number of Viking symbols and themes to create a remarkable and memorable piece.
It represents a dedication to the mighty god Odin.
At the center of the ring is the Valknut, which was the symbol of Valhalla.
It represented the bravery of the Vikings warriors in battle as they did not fear death. To die bravely only the battlefield meant to be taken to Valhalla.
The Valknut sits on top of a Helm of Awe symbol, also known as Aehishjalmur.
This was a protective magical stave. Warriors would draw the symbol on their forehead before going into battle to grant themselves courage, and gain the favor of Odin, the god of war.
The Helm of Awe is surrounded by a distinctive geometric design constructed from interlocking lines.
This was a popular motif in Viking art throughout their history.
Finally, six runes protrude from the circle of the ring spelling out the words "Hail Odin", again calling on the protection and support of Odin, the king of the Norse gods and the god of war, wisdom, and witchcraft.
