Thissilver pendant is a replica of a woman-shaped pendant from Tuna, Sweden, dating to the 9th-10th century. The woman is thought to be Freyja, the goddess of love and beauty, fertility, and witchcraft.
Freyja was a Vanir god that lived among the Aesir and was the most important female deity worshipped by the Vikings. She represented love and beauty, but also gave the gift of fertility, and was the patron of Seidr witches and Volva.
Like Odin, the All-Father, she chose brave fallen warriors to live with her in the afterlife in Folvkangr. She may even have been one of the legenday Valkyries.
This is the perfect piece to honor Freyja and the feminine side of the Viking world.
