This silver pendant is a replica of a woman-shaped pendant from Tuna, Sweden, dating to the 9th-10th century. The figure is believed to represent Freyja, the Vanir goddess of love, beauty, fertility, and witchcraft.

Freyja was a Vanir goddess who lived among the Aesir and was the most significant female deity worshipped by the Vikings. She symbolized love and beauty, bestowed the gift of fertility, and was the patroness of Seidr witches and Volva.

Like Odin, the All-Father, Freyja chose brave fallen warriors to dwell with her in the afterlife in Folkvangr. She might even have been one of the legendary Valkyries.

This pendant is the perfect piece to honor Freyja and the feminine side of the Viking world.
