While Vikings are often associated with Scandinavia, they ventured far beyond, leaving their mark across Europe, including in the Slavic regions of Russia and Eastern Europe.

These eastern Vikings developed their own unique culture. Instead of wearing Thor’s hammer as a symbol of protection, they honored Perun, their own god of thunder, by wearing axe-shaped amulets. Perun's axe, often referred to as the Slavic Mjolnir, was believed to offer divine protection and strength.
