What does this jewelry represent?
This distinctive ring is a replica of a Viking ring found in a hoard discovered in Rone, Gotland, Sweden. It dates to the height of the Viking period in the 10th and 11the centuries,
The original is made with silver and is exhibited at The Swedish History Museum of Stockholm.
The ring is decorated with two rows of triangular stamps and three dots placed with the points facing alternately upwards and downwards.
This style of ring was very popular among the Vikings and similar finds exist from Norway, Denmark, and even Viking communities as far east as Russia.
